NEW YEAR'S MASS SCHEDULE January 1st is the feast day of Mary, the Mother of God and a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses are:

Thursday, January 1st at 9:00 AM

There will be no 6:00 PM Mass this Sunday, December 28th. The 6:00 PM Mass will resume next Sunday, January 4th.

PARISH COUNCIL
The installation of St. Christines' Parish Council will take place on Sunday, January 4th at the 11:30 AM Mass.

WEEKLY MEETINGS
Music
Adult Choir: Monday, 7:30 to 9:30 PM
Junior Choir: Monday, 5:00 to 6:00 PM
Children's Choir: Mon, 6:00 - 7:00 PM
Folk Group: Saturday, 4:00 PM

Bible Study Group meets at 9:30 AM on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. For more information, call Sallie Walsh at 781-834-6762.

Moms and Tots meets on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. All mothers and children are welcome to join. Please call Carol Ann Wheeler at 781-834-5761 or Kerry Murphy at 781-834-8857 for more information.

Men's Ministry - Thursday evenings from 8:30 to 9:45 PM. Each meeting provides for prayer, study and sharing our "Walk with Jesus." All are welcome. Call Ed at 781-545-0881 for more information.

Parish Information

Registration forms for new parishioners are available at the rectory or in the church vestibule. Welcome!

Baptism is celebrated on the 2nd Sunday of each month. Parents and godparents of children to be baptized must attend a catechesis prior to the Baptism. Call Dotty Gurry, Ext. 18 to schedule an appointment.

Marriage preparations require contacting one of the priests at least six months in advance of the wedding date. Please call for an appointment.

RCIA is for those who have questions about becoming a Catholic or for those who are already Catholic, but have never received the sacraments of Eucharist and/or Confirmation. Formal inquiry sessions begin in mid-September. For more information, please call the rectory.


OPEN HOUSE

Father Frank, Father Henry and the

There will be no Religious Education classes this week. Classes will resume on Sunday, January 4th, 2004. The Religious Education Office will also be closed during Christmas vacation and reopen on Monday, January 5th at 9:30 AM.

We wish to extend our sincere gratitude to our catechists, their students and all of our families who participated so generously in community outreach service during this Christmas season. We are so proud of all the wonderful contributions made by so many. You are awesome!

Active Christian Teen Parenting
Susan West, R.N. and Peg Walsh, R.N. will again facilitate this very successful six-week skill building course for parents of young adolescents and teens. The first session will be held at St. Christine's Parish Hall on Thursday, January 8, 2004 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and culminate on Thursday, February 12th. There is a $15 fee for materials. Registration forms can be found at the church entrances or from the Religious Education Office and must be returned by Monday, January 5th. If you would like additional information or have any questions about this program, please call Jean Godin at 781-837-0088.

Christmas Flower Envelopes
Thank you for your generosity in our special flower collection. Your contributions bought poinsettias, indoor and outdoor wreaths and Christmas plants and greens that made St. Christine's Church beautiful for Christmas. A Novena of Masses in memory of all our deceased family and friends will begin on Monday, January 12th at the 9:00 AM Mass.

New Day Bereavement Group
Thursday, January 8th at 10:00 AM in the rectory. If you are recently or not so recently bereaved because of the loss of a loved one, you are welcome to attend. If you are interested in knowing more about the group, call Mary Doolan or Dotty Gurry at 781-834-6003.

Do you like surprises?
An open invitation is extended to all to join the Knitting Group on Sunday, January 4th from 1:00 until 3:00 PM in the Children's Room. There will be a guest instructor with a surprise project!

ENVELOPE USERS
Please remember to write the amount of your contribution on the outside of your envelope. All envelopes for the year 2003 must be used by the end of December. This ensures that you are credited with your contribution on your yearly statement. Thank you for your cooperation.

RED HAT LADIES
A musical variety show presented by the Red Hat Ladies of Marshfield will take place on Sunday, January 4th at 1:30 PM at the new Senior Center on Webster Street. Tickets are $5.00 and may be purchased at the Senior Center. All proceeds will benefit the Marshfield Council on Aging. For more information, please call 781-834-5581.

MEAL PREPARATION
An occasional meal! From time to time there is a need for someone to prepare a meal for a family coping with illness or bereavement. If you would like to join "St. Christine's Cookers", it's a great way to serve your parish. If you can help, please call Claire Kennedy at 781-837-2039 and leave your name and phone number.
