ST. CHRISTINE’S MEN’S RETREAT will be held at the Foyer of Charity in Scituate on Friday, September 11th at 7:00 pm and continues on Saturday, September 12th at 7:30 am. The topic is “Our Relationship with the Trinity.” For information, please call Norm Shacochis at 781-834-4097 or Ed Casassa at 781-545-0881.
RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
The Parish Family of Saint Christine welcomes the opportunity to share our Catholic faith and traditions with adults interested in joining our faith community. If you have a spouse, relative or friend who is thinking of becoming Catholic, ask them to consider the RCIA program. RETREAT AT GLASTONBURY ABBEY
An open invitation is extended to the ladies of the parish to join the steering committee of Catholic Women Today for a day retreat on Saturday, September 19th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The cost is $30 which includes lunch and a carpool will leave from St. Christine’s. If you are interested in attending, please call Dotty Gurry at 781-834-6003 x 18. (There are 5 openings left.)

SOWING SEEDS CLOTHING BANK-781-837-3337
The Clothing Bank needs fall clothing and school supplies – pens, pencils, crayons, notebooks and backpacks – as well as packages of new underwear (all sizes). Located on the corner of Route 139 and School Street, Sowing Seeds is open Thursday and Saturday mornings from 10 am to 12 noon to donate or obtain clothing.

The first rehearsal for the Children’s Choir will take place on Monday, September 14th from 5:00 to 6:30 pm in the church. The participation of our children singing together at the 9:00 am Mass is important to our parish. All children are welcome to join the choir. MEDITATION is an ancient form of prayer that involves reciting a short, sacred phrase and being open to the Holy Spirit. We meet on Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the rectory, listen to a short lecture, meditate for 25 minutes, take questions and are gone by 7:45 pm. Please join us!

NEW TEACHER RECRUITMENT
We still need a few teachers for our CCD Program. Won’t you please consider volunteering for this most important ministry to our children and adolescents? If you would like to teach in our CCD program, contact the CCD Office at 781-837-0088.

CCD classes are filling up and space is limited. Any pre-school student, first grader or student new to St. Christine’s who has not yet registered must do so this week at the CCD Office. A baptismal certificate is required at the time of registration.

GRADE 6 FAMILY LIFE PROGRAM
Our sixth grade Family Life Program begins next Wednesday, September 16th at 6:30 pm in the parish hall. All Grade 6 students, accompanied by at least one parent, are expected to attend this four week program in lieu of regularly scheduled classes. Attendance will be taken.

MASS AND HEALING SERVICE WITH FRANK KELLY
Tuesday, September 8th at 7:00 pm

A Mass and Healing Service with evangelist Frank Kelly will take place at St. Mary’s Parish in Scituate. Come and share the peace of this special evening. For more information, call St. Mary’s at 781-545-3335. All are welcome to attend this evening of prayer and healing.


We continue to raise money to replace our church boiler. The next bonus drawing will take place this Sunday after the 11:00 am Mass.

Raffle tickets may be purchased after all the Masses or you can return your raffle tickets in the collection baskets in an envelope marked Parish Appeal.
The Grand Prize will be awarded at the “Flavors of Fall” event so please return your raffle tickets so you can be included in the drawing.

Our “Flavors of Fall” event on October 17th will include a silent and a live auction. We are seeking donations of auction items such as a golf foursome, use of a vacation home, boat ride (in season), limo ride, tickets to an event, sports memorabilia, spa, etc. If you have a donation, please call Norm Shacochis at 781-834-4097 to make arrangements to drop your item off or have it picked up. Thank you for your continued support.

Our PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY will begin a new season of gatherings on Sunday, September 13th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in the parish hall. We look forward to our new season and hope to have many new members join our wonderful group. All beginners who wish to learn to knit or crochet are encouraged to come. SOWING SEEDS is sponsoring a support group for unemployed men. All interested men are invited to meet on Tuesday, September 8th at 6:30 pm in the conference room at Ventress Library. CATHOLIC WOMEN TODAY
Sunday September 13th - 9 am Mass & Communion Breakfast All women of the parish, all ages, are invited to gather at the 9:00 am Mass followed by a Communion Breakfast in the parish hall. The film “Picturing Mary” will be shown and registration will be available. Come to celebrate and dedicate Year Five of Catholic Women Today to Our Blessed Mother! A $5 donation at the door is suggested.
