EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS & Visitors to the sick and homebound
Every Sunday we celebrate the mystery of our faith that forges our identity and strengthens us to be the very Body of Christ what we receive. The Communion rite is the heart and center –the ritual climax of the entire Mass. The gathering of the community, the proclamation of God’s Word, the remembering thanksgiving and offering in the Eucharistic Prayer – all directed toward the receiving of Holy Communion in which we many, fed with His own Body and Blood are made one in the Lord.Eucharistic Ministers are members of our Parish family who are called to assist the priest in the distribution of the Body of Christ and the Precious Blood to the people gathered at Mass.
St. Christine’s Eucharistic Ministers have been bringing the Eucharist to parishioners who are unable to attend Mass due to age, illness, or recovery from illness for the past 43 years. Eucharistic Ministers visit the sick and homebound every Sunday morning after the 9:30a.m. Mass. Currently visitors to the sick and homebound visit a total of 70 individuals in their homes and at Proprietor’s Green every Sunday. Eucharistic Ministers and Visitors to the sick and Homebound are asked to serve 1-2x a month depending on their availability.
If you have interest in learning more about these rewarding ministries, please call Mary Doolan at x21 (Training is provided).
